Katandra showed why they are the only undefeated side in the competition bursting out of the blocks with a 6-goal opening quarter.
The Kats continued to apply the pressure throughout the rest of the game with the Bears not coping with the relentless pressure.
Josh Cheek and Jayden Arnold were the only shining lights for the Bears. Much like the kid that plays second French horn in the school band, the senior boys need to play better.

Well, I don’t know if there has been a bigger sporting team turnaround since the mighty ducks epic season of 92.
With a couple of our own Fulton Reid and Adam Banks style recruits the Tunga lunch time legends are knocking on the door of the top four.
With the makeshift oldish midfield the boys understood speed would not be their ally and set out to play some contested football.
Dan Ellis and Jezza Kelly’s limo service remains in operation with the boys good to carry at least 8 players each week. I question Xander Smith’s commitment to the Reserves. As he puts his name in lights for a return to the seniors, turning in a very polished performance, if being tough puts hairs on your chest this bloke must look like a shag pile rug.
Henderson remains adamant the tatistician’s pen ran out of ink and robbed him of a goal. Nevertheless, the big fella will be content with his bag of 6 and will have the Ressie’s interleague selectors questioning whether he’ll be in the squad again this year.
Dan O’Brien had his best game for the season controlling the space on his wing and working harder than a pick pocket at a nudist colony. Banger Thomson… unlike this week’s write up…pretty good, 4/5 stars, would recommend.

Up against Katandra for the second time this season, saw the boys getting off to a good start with a strong defensive effort.
By the end of the first quarter, it was evident that the boys had more to give, and they would have to dig deep if they wanted to be contenders.
The second quarter, the boys stepped it up a gear, putting pressure on Katandra and making them work for every possession.
Some fantastic teamwork was on display, leading to a couple of impressive goals. Sefa kicking to Billy, who then found Brae, resulting in a goal. Additionally, Archie's beautiful turnover, delivering the ball to Nate, who swiftly got it to Brae for another goal. In the third quarter, the team came out stronger once again, matching Katandra goal for goal.
Tunga and Katandra both scored three goals each, showcasing a resilient performance from both sides.
The last quarter, Tunga came out hungry for the win. With the forwards, mids and backs all playing their part, the game was neck and neck. With 7 minutes to go, the scoreboard was tied. Unfortunately, the boys didn't quite get it over the line, with Katandra kicking 2 goals in the last few minutes. Although our initial start let us down, the team's remarkable turnaround was exceptional and a great game to watch.
The boys should feel proud of themselves and the progress they've made so far this season.

Katunga’s first quarter made the Bears a little uneasy as they started off strong. As the second quarter came around, our boys got into the rhythm and scored a few quick goals and gained the lead. The older boys demonstrated great leadership, brilliant football skills and opted to share the ball around as much as possible as our lead continued to grow.
The backliners fought hard to keep the Cats from scoring, Jackson and Noah getting right in on the action playing great defence, whilst we showed great momentum in the forward line with plenty of possessions down our end.
The Bears looked hungry for the ball this week, Ryan and Cooper were regularly seen throwing themselves onto the ball putting their bodies on the line. It really was a hard game to single out any one player as a standout, because all the Tunga boys seemed to have fire in their bellies this week. Great game Bears!

Word had spread near and far that Traditional rivals Tungamah and Katandra were due to meet and to write another chapter in their long history.
A big crowd had gathered to watch the biggest football game scheduled for the day, the fifths!! It did not disappoint.
Both the Bears and Kats put on a display for the ages. Beautiful skills kicking, handballing, smothering and working for our teammates were on display and the crowd really appreciated all players efforts. Thanks to Katandra for another great day of junior football.

This week’s game against Katandra really demonstrated the girls putting their training into practice. We had Georgie show off in shooter scoring an amazing goal. And jade ran her little legs off in mid court and in the ring shooting.
Katandra made a great comment on our under 11s team bringing a great level of skilled juniors into the club, and we couldn’t agree more!

Katandra came out strong to take the lead at the end of the first qtr. Qtr time gathering saw a few position changes and direction from coaches for both defence andattack. Halftime saw the game drawn, and coaches were very impressed with what they were watching. Positive plays continued into the 3rd qtr to again see the game drawn going into the last qtr.
At the start of the 4th, the girls took the court to continue their hard work. Unfortunately, we fell short. While the girls were disappointed to not get the win, so many positives to take out of today’s game.
The girls played with determination, smiles, and heads held high and displayed fantastic all-around teamwork when it was needed the most throughout a tough fort game. Superstars!

Another great defensive game by our young ladies in sunny conditions.
The entire team displayed vision down the court, there were lots of tips and tap intercepts with the bears always there as backup to get the ball. Brooke was her awesome self, shooting the long bomb goals while Lillie never took her eye off the ball in defence and turned lots of balls over.

The girls were up and about and ready to play this week and were on fire from the get-go with Anna and Vic shooting an impressive 18 goals in the first quarter.
Maddie played her role in WA getting straight out on the centre passes and setting the goalers up with wonderful passes and deep drives onto the ring.
The girls in defence again showed how much they are improving with Bridie taking clean intercepts inside and outside the ring.
It’s fantastic to see the girls continuing to improve each week and working great as a team on and off the court.

With 6 players available C Grade welcomed Bridie Hodgson, Hayla McGregor and Elli Buerckner to our side this week.
A strong first quarter hustle saw the Bears behind by 3 at the first break.
Tungamah settled in the second and took a 4-goal lead at the long break. The pressure was back on in the third and it was a goal the difference.
The Bears worked so hard in the last and took the win by 3. Danielle and Tayla stood tall and worked the ring to space.
Hannah, Bernadette, Sharelle, Elli and Hayla always made sure there were several options and backups to every ball.
Remi and Bridie had their work cut out in defence but were a class act working so well together.
Players player and Intersports - Bridie Hodgson with 16 intercepts and rebounds against a much taller opponent, Lash Revolution - Remi McPherson, Richglen - Danielle Sidebottom.

Another week, another impressive performance by the Bears! The girls showed incredible teamwork and resilience, never giving up and supporting each other until the very end of the game.
The communication on the court was top-notch, with everyone making fantastic intercepts.
Tahnee's go-go gadget defence was on fire throughout the game, making numerous crucial turnovers. Even though the Bears had a bit of a dip at half time, they regrouped and drew on the positives from the first half to fuel their determination to bring home the win.
It's amazing how Molly's ability to read the play and create turnovers can be a game-changer.
Well done girls I love seeing how each player contributes in various ways to the game, stepping onto the court in different positions without any hesitation.
The Bears truly showed their opponents what they are made of once again! Great job to all the players for their outstanding performance!

The girls came out firing in the first quarter being able to implement what we had worked on at training taking a 2-goal lead at quarter time.
Second quarter saw Katandra take the lead and take hold of the game, with the girls causing some unforced errors and being unable to capitalise on our centre passes. Maddie stepped into centre and took charge in the midcourt getting intercepts down the entire court with the help of the defensive pressure.
It was great to see the girls playing as a team and getting around each other throughout the game. Unfortunately, Katandra were too good and ran away with the win in the end.
