Deb Harbrow, Daryl McKernan and Heie Hansen will take on Darren Edwards, Kev Young and Ben Dundee in what should be a very close contest.
Kevin Young is currently leading the player of the year award and Darren Edwards is a multiple winner of that title, whilst Ben Dundee has played very well over the qualifying series.
Deb Harbrow won all three matches in the final round whilst Heie Hansen is a former club champion and Daryl McKernan has an uncanny knack of playing well in big matches.
The scribe is going to sit on the fence and wish all contestants the best of luck rather than making a prediction.
Social nights in recent weeks have seen Darren Edwards claim victory over Michael Barclay on September 19 and Jason Bassett taking all before him to defeat the very consistent Michael Barclay in the final of September 26.
The doubles club championship will be contested on Monday, September 30 and Tuesday October 1.
Defending champions Mia Macheda and Adrian Ridley will not be defending their title as Adrian is paired with Luca Macheda for this year’s event.
This could lead to a very interesting final if Mia and Mother Sam happen to play Adrian and Luca in the final, but there are plenty of matches to be contested before then.
Again, best of luck to all competitors in an event that will unearth a new champion combination as no past champions are paired this year.
