Reggie, Elsie and Miles Jones were little legends helping to set up for the tournament.

The sheer size of this tournament is astounding. There will be 1350 players ranging in age from 7 to 77 participating in 104 different events on 59 courts over the four-day period with an incredible 1985 matches scheduled to be completed.
Graded events range from Open events to D Grade. On top of this there are multiple junior age groups and veteran events. With singles, doubles and mixed doubles all being played there is tennis for everyone.
The popularity of this event is second to none. This year the capacity of 1350 players was reached with club members and players who participated in 2024.
The tournament did not even open for entries which is unheard of in tournament tennis. On top of this there is a waiting list of more than 400 players all indicating how precious a place in Yarrawonga Lawn Tennis Club’s event is.
This is the major fundraiser for the year and it was fantastic to see such wonderful support.
The volunteer base will continue to be sensational over the Easter period. It is estimated that around 150 people will give up their time over the weekend to ensure the tournament is a success.
This is extremely appreciated and the tournament couldn’t go ahead without this happening.
The tennis courts have the reputation as being consistently outstanding and this is one of the main reasons players are so keen to play in the tournament.
The groundsmen headed by greenskeeper Micheal Sheahan have done a wonderful job not only maintaining the 23 grass courts but also preparing the football oval for tennis.

The JC Lowe Oval looks fantastic with great grass coverage.
A special thank you to members who volunteered their time over the weekend to prepare the oval. Saturday involved marking the oval, whilst Sunday was devoted to assembling the netting on the oval and a general clean up around the complex.
Long serving committee man Peter Thomas suggested that this was the quickest the oval had ever been prepared.
The players will enjoy food and beverages whilst off the court. Once again Sweet and Sour sisters will be catering for the event.
Their support of the tournament is amazing and past players are always full or praise of the food they provide.
The entire local community is invited to come and watch the tennis over the weekend. It is a unique event and the weather forecast is looking wonderful.
