Ten swimmers managed to meet the required qualifying times in Swan Hill on February 26, with events in all four strokes held over 50m.
Supported by club coaches Kynan Batey and Vanessa Laidlaw throughout the day, most of the swimmers competing set new personal best times, with some standout performances claiming medals.
Kayla O’Grady claimed second place in the 11-year-old girls freestyle, as well as third place in both the breaststroke and backstroke.
Jessica McMillan was also outstanding, claiming first place in the eight-year-old girls backstroke, and third place in the freestyle.
Emily McMillan earned a first place in the 12-year-old girls freestyle, to go with her second place in the butterfly. McMillan did well to qualify for the backstroke final also, however she was unable to place.
Charlotte Wilson claimed the final podium for the club, claiming third place in the 12-year-old girls breaststroke.
Macklan Dalziel (12-year-old boys 50m backstroke, breaststroke and freestyle), Jack Hawkins (12-year-old boys breaststroke), and Anja Taylor (13-year-old girls breaststroke) all qualified for finals in their respective disciplines, but unfortunately were unable to place.
Oscar Coombs, Hanna Taylor and Jordan Dalziel all competed hard but fell just short of reaching the finals in their events.
