Since taking the reins in 2022, Fuhrmeister’s tenure as Lions coach has been successful, with a peak in her first season in charge when the Lions took out all three GVFNL netball grades.
This achievement stands alone in the history books of the GVFNL, with no other club having come close before or since to repeating the feat.
Her glittering resume includes three A-grade premierships, one as captain, and GVNFL representative honours.
While she is stepping back from coaching, Fuhrmeister remains committed to the club as a player for the 2025 season.
A Seymour Lions spokesperson praised Fuhrmeister’s contribution to the club and competition.
“Ellie has been a crucial part of our club as a player and coach for a long time, and we are incredibly grateful for the work she has put in,” the spokesperson said.
The club said its netball program had gone from strength to strength under Fuhrmeister’s leadership, and as a coach, she had left a lasting legacy on the club.
“Since Ellie’s A-grade debut in 2013, she’s been a crucial member of our club both on and off the field, and we are proud to call her a Lion,” the spokesperson said.
Returning to her hometown club, Adamson brings a wealth of experience to Kings Park, having previously played for the Collingwood Magpies in the Super Netball League and the Boroondara Express in the Victorian Netball League.
