As usual we had our very supportive parents helping out on the court, which is great to see.
We are so lucky as a club to have so many willing parents offering to help.
As there were a few other activities on, we were a bit short of players in Section 1.
This however provided an opportunity to bring up some talent from our green group program.
They all excelled well beyond our expectations.
Special mention to Will Crossley and Lenny Hanns for wining their three sets in their first outing in the comp.
Isaac Tubb was unlucky not to win three. After winning the first two he lost the third in a tie-break.
We also had many others who performed admirably in their first week of Section 1, including Charlie Eastman, Stella Chadington and Harriet Maher.
Both matches were close with Murray Darling Flights winning eight sets to six against Nutrien Ag. Henry Campion, Will Crossley and Lenny Hanns instrumental in that win, and Annabelle Hanns won her three sets for Nutrien.
In the other match, JC Earthworks beat Intersport Deni, eight sets to six.
Audrey Laffan helped her team secure the win.
Charlotte Gatacre tried hard, winning all her three sets for Intersport.
Just a reminder that our local junior tournament is on in a few weeks - Sunday, March 10.
I would encourage everyone to register for that as soon as possible.
We had a great turnout last year with a round robin format which all the kids love as you get plenty of tennis for the day.
