Waaia: C. Burrows 10, C. Brown 7, J. Carpenter 2, D. Blake, D. Moncur, A. Thompson.

Waaia: C. Burrows, C. Brown, M. Bergamin, D. Blake, L. Wright, W. Trower.
This was a really good first term as both teams ran and competed. Shaw was at his best in a run with role, Ryan was providing a target, and Dwyer again showed class across half back.
As the game progressed, Waaia’s ball movement and use of the ball to hit a target shone through.
17 of their 22 goals were kicked by their key forwards who were able to get on the end of strong work across the middle and then transferred to deep forward.
Ryan and Bruce kicked 2 goals each for Rennie.

Reserves
Rennie 1.9.15 def by Waaia 13.5.83.
Bad kicking is bad footy and 1 goal 6 behinds at the first break, was the catalyst to firstly keep Waaia in the game and then the visitors tore it apart.
The Hoppers were very solid except for their deep forward entry and when the limited opportunities only ended up with 1 goal from 10 scores execution was indifferent. Hughes was super back in the team, Garner is a high-quality player and Denny ran and ran and tried valiantly. Now need to win 3 of the last 4.
Goals: B Bone.
Awards: Premix King – Zac Garner, Lake Mulwala Bakery – Kayne Hughes, Yarrawonga Hotel – Brad Bone, ClubMulwala – Lenny Denny and Shayne Stiles Roofing – Jacob Palmer.

The Hoppers were out of the blocks early with an 8 point lead but a couple of important injuries helped pull the game back in Waaia’s favor and they ran out victors by 35 points. Ed Withers was awesome kicking 4 goals, but it was a day where every player could be proud to have had a crack.
