Two shots away were runners-up Glen Warren and Ken Maher who recorded 46 points.
In Wednesday's stableford event, the A-grade winner was Geoff Bracken with 38 points from runner-up Wayne Hodgson 37, and in B-grade Peter Beckton had 37 points from runner-up John Metcalfe 36.
There is a busy weekend of golf approaching at both a local and regional level.
Tomorrow is a stroke event, with the men contesting their August monthly medal. The ladies August medal was played yesterday.
Also this weekend, Finley will host the Western Riverina District Golf Association championships. Tomorrow will be a fourball stableford event and Sunday is stroke for the championship trophies.
Our regular Tuesday 9 hole event next week will be stroke, then we have a string of stableford competitions on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday.
Seniors are encouraged to participate in the regular Friday 9 hole event, with hit-off from 8am. A unique handicap system which gets non-winners a shot back each week gives everyone a chance to figure in the prizes.
The club would like to thank everyone who supported Dirty Dicks Theatre Restaurant last week, making it a successful night.
Coming up we have live music on Saturday, August 17 provided by Lachlan Downes and Andy Pearn, who are promising a night of great tunes, good company and a fantastic atmosphere. The club is keen to provide these additional nights of entertainment, but naturally their future will be determined by the support that is received.
And talking of supporting the Golf Club, don’t forget Friday Night Fun each week, featuring raffles with quality meals available. Raffle tickets are on sale from 6pm with draws at 7pm, and happy hour is from 5pm to 6pm.
