At the senior presentation evening last Friday, in reward of 20 years service, he was awarded life membership.
Described as having an unassuming nature and humility, Glowrey has served as a football player and volunteer administrator at the club since starting with the Rovers in 2005.
He has played 145 seniors games and 155 reserves games at the club, which led to being awarded the 300 game jacket in June this year.
Glowrey played in the 2012 Deni Rovers reserves premiership and has been a two time reserves Best & Fairest recipient.
He has also been president of the club since 2020, during some of the club’s toughest periods including the COVID-19 pandemic.
The life membership is only the second in the last 10 years.
He is the 21st to be bestowed the honour in the club’s 47-year history.
Rovers life member Michael Fleming said the adjudicators of life membership can be described as “tough markers”, but that it makes the quality of the life membership all the more special and meaningful because of the selection process.
Glowrey said he was shocked at receiving the honour, which was kept a secret from him until the presentation.
“I am incredibly honoured to receive life membership at the Deniliquin Rovers Football & Netball Club.
“I could name so many other people who have done, and continue to do, so much at the club. I was truly surprised.”
“Rovers has been such a great club to me, and my family, and I have always felt that I have got more back from the club than I have put in.”
