The Mulwala Water Ski Club Ski Show Team kicks off again this year with a new show and crew of passionate waterskiers and this season will see the Australian Ski Show Nationals come to Yarrawonga Mulwala.
Now is the time to get involved as the club goes on an expansion push after an interrupted couple of years due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Many people watch the show each year and are amazed by the waterskiing skills, but what everyone sees is the end result of training sessions where kids of all ages join as relative beginners and are taught to perform these incredible stunts.
Mulwala Water Ski Club Ski Coordinator Peter O’Neil said many of the skiers that have joined the show over the years started off as just someone who could get up and ski but eventually went on to represent Australia in World Championships. All just by being hard working members of the wonderful ski program the Mulwala Water Ski Club puts on.
“If you can ski, then we want you to join in,” Pete said.
“We have so many like-minded people, and we have formed a community, it’s like a football or netball team but for waterskiing.
“This year we are looking for everyone, mums and dads, people who want to be on stage, people who can run the sound desk and play tunes.
“Even those mums and dads who want to ski with their kids are welcome.
“We are after a high-end wakeboarder and slalom skiers to people who have just learned to get up every time. “We want them all because the show team is such a great group which we want everyone to be a part of.”
For anyone looking to get on board and join the show team, the Mulwala Water Ski Club have programs running most nights of the week.
