Cobram 30 def by Mulwala 45.
It was a scorching day, but the senior Lionesses fought hard every step of the way. The girls worked together seamlessly, showing incredible teamwork and determination throughout the entire match.
Even when the heat was overwhelming, they kept pushing forward. The girls worked alongside each other especially with how adaptable everyone was, with players shifting positions as needed, and despite the challenges, Mulwala came out on top.
A true testament to the Lionesses strength and unity.
Award: $100 MFNC – Jedda and $100 MFNC – Georgie.

A beautiful hot day in Cobram saw the B grade come up against the Cobram Tigers.
The Tigers started off well but the Lioness B grade girls were able to put the pressure on as Cara, Milla and Freya increased the pressure in the ring.
Mulwala’s mid courters Sophia, Georgia, Anna and Alex worked tirelessly under the warm conditions bringing the ball down from defenders and feeding into the ring, where Emma-Jane, Mikyah and Tayla shot beautifully.
Unfortunately Cobram were too strong, defeating Mulwala.
Awards: Miss Dolly – Milla Fletcher and Rich Glen – Emma – Jane Bond.

On an incredibly hot day with no escape from the blazing sun, the girls showed nothing but grit and determination.
Despite the tough conditions, they never backed down and brought relentless pressure across the entire court.
Coach Nat set the tone early with some crucial intercepts that gave the team an edge and helped build a small lead over Cobram.
Captain Montanna led by example in mid court, popping up all over the court and always presenting as an option. Her leadership and energy lifted the team right when they needed it most.
Also in the midcourt, Mel and Addye were the absolute engines — constantly on the move and feeding the ball beautifully up into goalies, Jade, Stassy, and Piper who rotated seamlessly, combining well and creating strong scoring opportunities.
Their chemistry and movement kept the opposition on their toes.
The defencive hustle was backed by exceptional teamwork, with every player digging deep and supporting each other through the heat.
Leah, Steph, and Lily were outstanding — pulling in some fantastic rebounds and, at times, holding Cobram scoreless with their relentless pressure and smart positioning.
A huge credit to the whole team — their work rate, spirit, and unity under pressure were truly something special.
Awards: Judds Yarrawonga – Montanna Russell and Hardluck Café – Melanie McVicar.

The Lionesses started strong but they just couldn’t keep up with Cobram.
Annabel and Darcee worked hard all game against strong shooters and never gave up. Hannah was on fire in the mid court, offering strong leads.
It was great to have Kat back on the court, who together with Myley proved a great duo in goals.
It just wasn’t Mulwala’s day, but they will bounce back even stronger next week.
Awards: Yarrawonga Newsagency - Annabel Hart and Jaycees - Hannah Riches.

“Rising up, back on the court, the Lionesses did their time, took some chances.
“They went the distance, now they’re back on their feet, just a team and their will to survive.
“It's the eye of the goalies, Charli and Nix risin' up to the challenge of their rival.
“And defenders, Rubes and Nat stalk their prey on the court with Ever backing them up. “Face to face, out in the heat, Mim and Bel staying hungry.
“Bon and Chloe went the distance, now they’re not gonna stop.
“We are Lions, and WE WILL SURVIVE. because….”
“The Lionesses are bulletproof, had nothing to lose, Pass away, play away.
“Ricochet, the ball won’t stay, but they play, they play.
“They shot Mulwala down, but they didn’t fall.
“They are Lions-ium.
“Because they are survivors, they’re not gonna give up, not gonna stop, they’re gonna work harder…. at training.”

A great team effort for the blue team against a strong Cobram team, trying their best to work the ball down the court.
There were plenty of strong leads and some great defence resulting in intercepts and turn overs.
Well done girls.
