YMGCR Mens Nine Holers
On Tuesday the Nine Holers played their favourite game of Par and scoring was excellent on both courses with Frank "Rabbit" Warren edging Queensland blow-in Lance Walsh in a countback on +5 to take the win on the Blue.
Phil Howard led a 3-way countback on +3 from the ever-young Ronnie "Smokey" Dawson and Graham Milner with ball prizes going to +1 on countback.
On the Red, club favourite and footy tipping legend Terry Strickland won with a fine +4, including a birdie on the 7th to win the day with a 3-way countback on +2 led by Billy Hidson from Corny Boers and Denis "Drillbit" McNelly, who also had a nearest the Pin on the 2nd for the minor placings.
Balls going to -1 on countback.
Thursday saw Ian Barton take the win on the Blue with 21 points to edge a 3 way chase pack of Paul Byrne, Terry Strickland and Ian Shaw who all finished on 20 points, with Norm Coleman and Digger Dunne (19 points) and Glenn Perkins, Phil Dean, Andrew Beattie all winning ball prizes.
On the Red, Dave Hall took the bacon edging Geoff Burgess in a countback on 21, with Joe "ObeOneKonobi" Sciberras coming in third with 18 followed by Graeme Lavis (17) Ron Hocking, Ray Douglas and Joe Cilia on 16 and ball prizes going to Normie Prior, Lance Walsh, Steve Williamson and Graham Milner.
Don’t forget that from December 3, golf starts at 9am on the Blue only.
It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of long-time member Graeme Duffy who had been unwell for some time.
We can reflect on many happy memories and time spent with him over the years and his banter and dry humour will be missed.
We send our condolences to family and friends.
