Wangaratta Magpies 39 defeated by Yarrawonga 40.
Yarrawonga’s A Grade showed up this week adamant to reverse the result from round 4 against Wangaratta Magpies.
The Magpies were once again quick out of the blocks, applying strong defensive pressure down the court and capitalising on turnovers.
Down by 3 goals at quarter time, the Pigeons stuck it out and were able to bring the margin to only 1 goal down going into half time.
The third quarter saw the Magpies come back and hold a 4 goal lead going into the final.
Full court defence from the Pigeons created turnovers that they were then able to peg back the margin and win a thriller in the final seconds by 1 goal.
