Yarrawonga 67 defeated Wangaratta Magpies 39
This game was a dominate Yarrawonga performance from start to finish.
Yarrawonga had a 12 goal lead in the first quarter, with strong performances around court.
The second quarter was even as Wangaratta capitalised on interceptions.
However, the effort was not enough to stay close to Yarrawonga who showcased a were strong, well rounded team performance.
Best: Kaleisha Pell and Hannah Symes.
B Grade
Yarrawonga 46 defeated Wangaratta Magpies 40
Another win on the board for the B Grade Pigeons.
Wangaratta were strong competitors, but Yarrawonga were able to keep their composure and come out on top.
Dee Moon and Ellie Dickins both stepped up to the Wangaratta challenge and thrived under the direction of experienced goaler Bridget Cassar.
Bridget was a leader in the goal circle and the girls valued her support, with accurate shooting and experienced positioning in the circle.
Midcourters Millie, Sarah and Alisha ran hard all game to provide the best opportunities for the goalers.
They also provided great defensive pressure to set up defenders Anna, Kira and Grace.
Kira slotted beautifully into her GD position while Anna provided amazing communication for both Kira and Grace.
Emma used her physicality and speed to force mistakes from her opponents and create countless turnovers.
The girls go 2-0, continuing a great start to the season.

C Grade
Yarrawonga 40 def by Wanagaratta Magpies 42
In a very competitive game, the C Grade Pigeons lost to the Magpies.
The Magpies maintained a small lead throughout the game, and extended the lead to 5 goals in the third.
Although the Pigeons found momentum and fought hard to claw it back to 1 goal in the final quarter, the Magpies maintained their composure and held on to take the win.
Best: Coaches Award - Emma Thompson and Players Award - Alisha Harding.
Under 17s
Yarrawonga 46 defeated Wangaratta Magpies 36
After being down by 9 goals early in the match, Yarrawonga showed incredible resilience and determination to chip away at the Magpies with grit and teamwork to win by 9 goals.
An outstanding team performance saw every player shine on court.
Maisee was a standout in defence with lightning reactions, long reach, and strong rebounds.
Kendall kept the opposition shooter out of the circle using her body, making it easier for her teammates to keep the Magpies from scoring.
The midcourt was dynamic and reliable.
Miley’s speed and clever drives cleared space and created play, while Stevie’s athleticism and pinpoint feeds kept the opposition on the back foot.
Jedda was rock-solid with safe hands, smart transitions out of defence, and impressive jumping to deflect passes.
Lily brought calm during intense moments and followed up with quick, clean drives into the ring to support the shooters.
In attack, Mylah’s accuracy and smart body positioning made her a constant threat, while Sophie’s perfectly timed fakes, clever feeds, and baseline drives opened up the circle.
Leni’s timing into the ring, along with her holds and roll outs, made feeding into her effortless for her teammates
Under 15s
Yarrawonga 35 def by Wanagaratta Magpies 36
The under 15s had a nail biting match against Wangaratta Magpies.
The game was close from start to finish, with Yarrawonga's defensive end holding strong having made strong intercepts and transitions.
The mids and shooters brought the ball down well and the girls continued to remain accurate.
Yarrawonga had lots of changes throughout the game and the girls adapted strongly.
Unfortunately the under 15s went down by a goal in the dying seconds of the game, but a great game was had.
Positive signs as the girls are becoming a well-oiled machine.
