Round 2 of Saturday morning Premier League was completed in very warm conditions on the weekend.

With the afternoon temperature predicted to hit 38 degrees each set was played to 4. Despite this there were many long matches in each of the games.
In the first match Bears took on Pigeons. There were many close sets before Bears won 17 sets to 10. For the Bears Georgie Smith and Lily Leslie won all three sets. Whilst for Pigeons Riley Wallace and Ernie Buerckner were undefeated.
In the second battle Lions proved a little strong for Hoppers winning 19 sets to 8. For the Hoppers Theo Vodusek won all of his sets and for the victors Billie Buerckner, Jimmy Robinson, Ed Mulquiney were all three set winners.
The ladder after round 2 is Lions 37, Hoppers 32, Pigeons and Bears 30. This weekend will be the third and final round of Premier League.
The younger players in matches also continued with the Round Robin format and continue to play very well.
Congratulations to group winners Flynn Connell, Maewve Inchbold, Annabelle Sandral, Tristan Meredith, Ollie Legudi, Tom Winters, Nicklas Meredith, Artie Ryan, Oliver Cummins, Sophie Smith and Grace McQualter.
Hot Shots continues to be great fun with a lot of different games and activities developing hand-eye coordination with a focus on tennis.
The players really enjoyed an obstacle course. Coaching groups are also really developing their skills and some players will be looking at moving to match play after Christmas.
Wilby Tennis heating up
Round 7 of the Wilby and District Tennis Association was completed on Friday night. Due to harvest being in full swing there were only 2 matches this week with a couple of teams unable to field a squad.
Burramine hosted Mulwala Gold at Yarrawonga. With the Masters ITF being played at the venue both sides were keen to impress.
Mulwala’s men combined very well with Sean Robinson, Lachlan Orr, Josh Hammond and Tom Flanagan not dropping a set. It was the reverse in the ladies with Burramine’s ladies consisting of youngsters Hayley Bennett, Billie Prestage, Olivia Lewis and Ella Lewis winning 6 sets to 0.
Burramine proved a little strong in the mixed to win 3 sets to 1. Overall Burramine by 5 games to take the points 6 to 2.
Savernake made the journey out to play Tungamah Green. With both teams having a heap of juniors the future of the competition looks positive. Tungamah won the mens section 5 sets to 1 with Lachie Wren and Ernie Buerckner both undefeated.
It was a little closer in the ladies with Tungamah winning 4 sets to 2. Kiera Buerckner was best on court winning all of her sets. The mixed was close with Savernake winning 3 sets to 1 although Tungamah took the mixed points by winning by a single game. Tungamah Green won overall on games and claimed all 8 points.
After round 7 the ladder is Tungamah Green 48, Telford 44, Burramine 42, Mulwala Gold 29, Wilby 28, Mulwala Maroon 17, Tungamah Gold 14 and Savernake 2.
This week Tungamah Green host Burramine, Telford will take on Savernake, Tungamah Gold will visit Wilby and Mulwala Maroon will play Mulwala Gold in the Battle of Lonsdale Reserve.
Thursday ladies
Round 5 of Thursday Ladies as usual was great fun with beautiful hitting conditions. This week will be the final normal round of this season before the Ratings Shootout is played on the final night which is Thursday, December 6.
Drumsticks combined extremely well to have strong 5 sets to 1 win over Zooper Doopers. Zoe Jones and Demi Rhodes were both the stars being undefeated.
Calippos and Hearts had many close sets before Calippos were able to come out on top 4 sets to 2. Young gun Tess Bassett was best on court winning all of her sets.
Frosty Fruits have clearly been on the practice court as they were in great form winning 5 sets to 1 against Splices. For the winners Erin York and Nicole Dowling were both undefeated.
Paddle Pops emulated Frosty Fruits with a 5 to 1 win over Barney Bananas. Amy Lairson and Michelle Ramadge both in great form to win all of their matches.
The final match of the night was an absolute epic with sets split 3 all and unbelievably also even on games at 25 all.
A truly amazing result. Competition organiser Narelle Bassett was the star winning all of her matches.

Tuesday Mens Tennis
The Tuesday Mens competition continued with round 2 last Tuesday. With 13 teams it is fantastic to see so many courts being used.
There was some improved form this week although some players were still a little rusty. As usual the pizza and refreshments at the end of the night were enjoyed by all.
Sampras and Becker had a close battle with Lendl getting over the line 4 sets to 2. Indicating how close it was no player won all of their matches.
Laver and Edberg were evenly matched with each winning 3 sets with Laver sneaking home by 3 games. Again, no player could win all of their matches.
McEnroe and Borg also won 3 sets each although McEnroe won easily on games with Jim Zanin winning each of his matches 6/0.
Nadal gave Agassi a tennis lesson with Grant Lewis, Dave Porter, Simon De Oleveira and Nathan Bibby all combining well to win 6 sets to 0.
Connors and Djokovic had a good night with Connors winning 4 sets to 2 with youngster Viktor Lairson winning all of his matches.
In the final match of the night, it was another 4 to 2 results with Wilander defeating Becker.

Goulburn Murray Tennis
With the temperature predicted for 38 degrees the heat rule was implemented for all matches and play was cancelled.
Interleague Tennis Challenge
This Saturday Yarrawonga is hosting the inaugural interleague challenge between the Shepparton and Albury/Wodonga Tennis Associations.
The top 16 players from each association will be battling it out in a range of singles and doubles rubbers to see which association can take bragging rights.
Yarrawonga will be represented by Jack Bassett, John Brunner and Grant Chappell. The standard of tennis will be extremely high and spectators are encourage to attend with the action commencing around 1pm.
