Over the holiday period the courts are always open and parents are encouraged to utilise our amazing facility with their children.
Tuesday Mens Tennis
After a few couple of washouts the men were very keen to get back on court. In perfect conditions for tennis there was actually some quality tennis played.
Mixing this with the usual banter ensured a really fun night. This week is the final night before Christmas and extra pizzas have been ordered with the assumption that there will be standing room only on the deck.
There were many rubbers with sets split 3 all. The first was between Federer and Becker with Federer claiming the night by 7 games. Debutant Gareth Oughton displayed his class winning all of his sets.
Sampras also was 3 sets all with Djokovic but won the night by 4 games. For Djokovic Club President Daryl Bennett was best on court winning all 3 sets.
Agassi and Connors all shared the sets with Agassi coming out on top by 5 games. John Brunner was at his best winning all of his matches.
In the close one for the night Nadal won by a single game after the sets were 3 all. Indicating how even the battle was no player managed to win 3 sets.
Laver was in great form with a 6 sets to 0 win over Borg. The combination of Aidan Humphry, Jamie Hicks, Xavier Chessells and Fred Exton were all hitting the ball superbly.
In the final match of the night McEnroe won 4 sets to 2 over Lendl. Mick Ibbott was the star winning each of his sets.
