Katandra 37 defeated by Rennie 58
Best on court Paula Mifka led from attack and shot well this week, working hard on settling herself and the side.
Hannah (Miley) Shoppee played an outstanding game in defence, coupled with Mikayla McAuliffe who were almost unbeatable in defence.
Sophia Shaws provided amazing drive in attack and Ella Rhodes worked hard all game in GA. The Hoppers came together this week and encouraged each other all game, which saw Rennie come away with a fantastic win.
Let’s keep the momentum going and continue to work hard with lots of talk.

B Grade
Katandra 45 defeated Rennie 24.
The B Grade got off to a great start leading at the end of the first quarter. The Hoppers worked on their passages of play and focused on their unforced errors.
Katandra stepped it up in the second quarter and unsettled the Hopper team and took over on the scoreboard.
Heleena Shaw played her first senior game and provided much needed drive in the attack end. While Laynee Rhodes played her most solid game to date and provided amazing talk on the court.
Kayla Oughton and Celine Collins Bye in defence worked well together and gave the attack end numerous opportunities.
Brooke Bigger worked hard all game, while Maddy Phibbs rounded out the defence end, playing a wonderful game.
Although a loss on the scoreboard, some improvements overall and the Hoppers are heading in the right direction.

C Grade
Katandra 42 defeated Rennie 33.
Valiant effort by all the girls not going down by much against a worthy opponent. With many things to still work on the whole team is trying hard and improving every week. Haylee and Shanae showed the coach that they are listening and willing to work hard on strategies to help improve the game for the whole team, creating space, timing leads and being positive role models.
The birthday queen Nada used her experience well around the court putting a lot of pressure on the opposition creating turnovers.
Well done girls, let's keep this positive flow onto next week's game.

C Reserve
Katandra 31 defeated Rennie 19.
The Hoppers knew it was going to be a tough game from the word go facing a strong side and only have 7 players but C Res fought hard and everyone played a great game.
Mel and Jaz worked extremely hard in defence up against some very tall and experienced players.
Lizzie and Sheryl were outstanding in the goals with their amazing teamwork and communication.
Jae, Lacey and Amy all pushed strong through the mid court.
Katandra came out on top with a final score of 19-31. A great team to effort by Rennie.

Under 17s
Katandra 23 defeated by Rennie 51.
The start of the game showed Katandra being the dominant side with speed and determination to take control of the game.
The second quarter allowed the Hoppers to reset and focus on goals and strategies as a team and to begin playing the game the way the Hoppers wanted and not playing catch up.
Defensive pressure and eyes on the ball allowed for the girls to turn the game around and take the win.
A huge effort from the defensive circle this week, who time and time again were able to create pressure, turnovers and feed the ball down the court.
This of course goes hand in hand with goalies who worked tirelessly in a physical battle for the ball.
As a team, you should all be proud of the way you came back from behind and finished off playing a game with poise and control.

Under 15s
Katandra 10 defeated by Rennie 49.
This week the girls all had a goal of giving 100% at training during drills and focusing on developing as a team.
The game this week really showcased the Hoppers ability to have multiple combinations in every quarter, and still play skilful and high quality netball.
The defensive pressure from Lucy Bassett and Heleena Shaw, and even Iris Elliott showed that height doesn't create limits.
Excellent feeding and driving through the midcourt and having eyes for the ball from Abbey Belot, Darla Lawless, Laynee Rhodes, Steph Robinson and Violet Elliott.
And of course coming away with a win thanks to the movement and confidence of the goaler rotations from Alani Peterson, Sophie Coghill and Mia Elliott.

Under 13s
Katandra 22 defeated by Rennie 24.
Another amazing game played by the Hopper 13’s girls. It was a very close game but the Rennie girls managed to pull through at the end and won by a nail biting 2 goals.
The defenders were on top of the ball 100%, intercepting many balls, resulting in a turn over.
The mid court focused on spreading out and moving to the space which they did very well.
The shooters once again shot amazingly and worked around the ring beautifully. Great game girls!

Development Squad
Under 11s were put under the pump but put up a great fight for the ball as the Katandra girls were very tall and top age.
It’s great to see they are using the techniques they are learning at training.
Their three feet and hands in the air defending the ball was amazing, and with a special mention on Haley’s beautiful pivot.
The improvements from the girls each week is a pleasure to watch. Well done girls.
