A-grade: Deni Rovers 38 def by Katamatite 53

In a highly anticipated clash between the top two teams, the Deniliquin Rovers A-grade took on Katamatite in a match that promised to be fiercely contested.
The Tigers managed to edge out a slight lead in the first quarter, going into the break with a two-goal advantage.
The Rovers faced challenges with turnovers, mainly due to the impressive speed and defensive prowess of Hazel Glowrey.
Gabby Barlow’s strong leads and ability to break through the Tigers’ defence kept the Rovers competitive.
Carissa Bulmer was a consistent force, directing play effectively from her GA position.
The third quarter saw the Rovers mounting a strong comeback, matching the Tigers goal-for-goal.
However, the final quarter proved too much for the Rovers as the Tigers pulled away to secure the win.
While there’s plenty to work on, the Rovers can takeaway several positives as they move forward into the last part of the season.

B-grade: Deni Rovers 44 def Katamatite 31
Despite missing several key players, the Deniliquin Rovers B-grade showcased their adaptability and versatility against Katamatite.
The Rovers found themselves down in the first quarter but were far from out.
Reagan Beshman, Paige Brown, Shané Bothma, and Erika Martin seamlessly joined the team this week, contributing significantly.
Montana Muldoon-Leetham was outstanding in the middle. Her strong leads, drives, and ability to feed the circle proved instrumental as the Rovers outscored the Tigers 9-3 in the second quarter.
Paige Brown showcased her ability to take on strong defence and punish them with her accuracy in goals.
Montie Jones effectively shut down her opposition, and Sophie Dudley’s speed and determination at GD created crucial turnovers.
The Rovers continued their surge forward and, at the final whistle, secured a 44 to 31 victory.
It was a fantastic team performance, demonstrating the depth and resilience of the Rovers.

After a week off, the girls came out strong and ready to get back into it.
The team’s versatility was a key factor in Saturday’s game, showing off our ability to adapt and change with minimal errors.
Britt Edwards and Nicole Felmingham were again a dynamic duo in the goal circle, dominating the Katamatite shooters.
Our defensive pressure is proving to be our signature trademark.
The midcourt worked seamlessly to bring the ball down to our attackers with our smooth and clear passages of play.
Well done on another strong game this week.

C-Reserve: Deni Rovers 38 def Katamatite 25.
After a week off, the C-Reserve girls had a slower-than-usual start.
The fog and the wet court conditions added an element of difficulty to the game.
Some slippery conditions proved to show off some of the team’s ice skating skills.
Heading into the second quarter, the team found its rhythm. They were able to gain momentum and stretch out the lead across the remainder of the game.
The team is really coming together at the right time of the year with some smooth and strong passages down the court.

Under-17s: Deni Rovers 65 def Katamatite 4.
The Rovers came out of the blocks strong against the Tigers, executing a high-calibre game of netball with sheer determination and keeping their opposition to a mere four goals.
Best on court and players’ player Lucy Herberte had an absolute pearler of a game and was unstoppable in her roles. The smile on her face throughout the duration of the game said it all as she showcased her classy skills in both attack and defence.
Paige Brown was on fire in her positions within the goal ring and was a huge contributor to the 61-goal win, shooting with impressive accuracy.
Braelie Wesierski drove with force and was consistent in her approach to the game, as was Chloe Macknight, who excelled in being a grounding presence throughout the middle.

Under-15s: Deni Rovers 64 def Katamatite 4
It was cold and wet, and some adjustments to our usual game were required because of the conditions.
There were some really good passages of play during the game, and using their voices helped enormously.
The ball was slippery, but the girls were consistent throughout, even with the coach’s decision to implement a big ‘mix-up’ of positions again.
It was another convincing win for the girls.

Under-13s: Deni Rovers 44 def Katamatite 1
In a game marked by a cold start and slow initial pace, the girls demonstrated the importance of consistent training and preparation.
Early struggles highlighted the necessity of focusing on plays and precision in execution.
As the match progressed, the team found their rhythm, gradually building momentum and showcasing their skills more effectively.
The turning point came when the players started to gel, proving their hard work in training sessions paid off.
A special thanks go to the under-11 girls who stepped up and played confidently, contributing significantly to the team’s performance.
Their involvement was crucial in navigating the early difficulties and helping the team regain its form.
Overall, it was a nice game that emphasised the value of perseverance and teamwork.

The Deni Rovers under-11s had a cold and foggy start, but they were eager and ready to go.
The girls showed a fantastic team effort on Saturday.
After a productive training session on Thursday night, they successfully applied their newly acquired skills in the game.
