Rutherglen 26 Wahgunyah 43
Wahgunyah’s A Grade netballers went into Saturday’s game against Rutherglen with a few goals in mind.
Weather conditions were wet and slippery on a crisp, cold afternoon. It was a tightly contested first quarter with both teams getting used to conditions; Wahgunyah were 3 goals up. By half time the girls had established a 10 goal lead and with connections getting better by the week, they played out the game with a positive attitude and the goals were achieved.
B grade regrouped after not playing to their potential last week. With weather conditions wet and cold, our slow and steady approach throughout the court made the score board click over in a favour. Team-work the name of the game this week, our attack and defence connected beautifully.
C grade put forth another strong performance this week, really taking it to Rutherglen, particularly in the first half. The team continues to improve each week and there will no doubt be a few more wins as the season nears the end.
Awards: Bianca Krech (Club Corowa) Sophie Ronnfeldt (Wahgunyah Caltex).

The girls had an awesome win, winning by 44 goals. Issy Saunders and Poppy Massari were both standouts in our attacking end, whilst Dekoda Smith and Rochelle Allan were very solid in defence. It was a great game and great performance by all the girls. Go Lions!

The U13s came back strong, taking home the win against Rutherglen this week. It was an all round effort with our junior players really stepping up, playing the type of netball they have been working hard to achieve at training. Looking forward to the road home as we continue to improve and come together more and more as a cohesive team.
The girls had an excellent game against their friends at Rutherglen. The movements in the ring were a highlight and paying off with excellent shooting. The defenders had lots of intercepts. Well done girls!
