YCC Sailing Club Captain Ken Cameron said the training will be held on Saturday for a set period of five weeks from Saturday, November 13 to Saturday, December 11.
Training will run from 10am to 12pm at the Yarrawonga Yacht Club and is suitable both for beginners and those who have done some sailing in the past.
“YYC is a family friendly, welcoming club, we are part of the “She Sails” program and actively encourage female participation,” Ken said.
“We will offer training for all levels to help people get started.
“Sailing is not complicated or difficult and we provide opportunities for all.”
For example, the training days can be for;
People that may have sailed at some stage in the past and want to get back into the sport.
Families that want to take up a new activity that is fun and ideal for young and teenage children.
People that want to take up a new water sport which is enjoyable and not hard to learn.
Even those that wish to crew for some of the larger yachts on the lake.
“The club can help with advice, support, training and short-term loan of sailing dinghies all on our beautiful location on Lake Mulwala.
“The club also has a Laser dingy for loan to members which is the type of boat in which Matt Wearn won gold for Australia in the Tokyo Olympics,” Ken said.
