Yarrawonga 12.7.79 defeated Albury 2.1.13
The undefeated Pigeons battled hard against the 7th placed Albury Tigers at Yarrawonga for round 6.
The young Pigeons started well again scoring 5 goals to nothing in the opening term.
Mitch Loughnan was lit racking up possessions all over the ground and hitting the scoreboard.
The backline was solid with Jeremy Bramich, Jesse Tonna, Harry Barker and Alex Di Cioccio combining well to put the brakes on the Tigers as they went into attack.
Ollie Connell was exceptional on a half forward flank running hard all day and creating opportunities.
The second half was a more even contest and Darby Mullins proved to be a headache for the opposition running and jumping at every ball that came near him and with Ollie Cope ready to pounce on any loose balls that spilled his way.
Mac Pendergast played a pivotal role in the ruck and was unstoppable when combining with elite midfielders Liam Williams and Hunter Frauenfelder.
Highlight of the last quarter was a long booming goal from outside 50 from champion defender Lachlan Phillips.
An all-round team performance saw the Pigeons home by 66 points with 10 individual goal scorers, maintaining top position on the ladder leading into the bye.
Congratulations to the 9 boys selected in the interleague side for next weekend in Wangaratta - Frauenfelder, Pendergast, Loughnan, Phillips, Williams, Di Cioccio, James, Montgomery, Walker.
